REIKI is a vibration of love, healing and joy and should be embraced as such.
The philosophy taught in the first degree is the fundamental
structure of REIKI and its importance should be recognised.
The teachings should be placed before the student and the
corresponding laws of the universe explained.
With the first initiation and the twenty-one day cleansing experience the
student will confront these teachings in everyday practicalities and may need
further support in incorporating them into their daily practice.
The teacher, therefore, should provide whatever guidance and further explanation
necessary to help the student attain these first steps towards
self mastery.
Only when they can embrace REIKI on a vibration of joy and
with perfect faith are students ready for preparation for
the second degree.
The second degree extends the knowledge of the self.
The student gains increased enlightenment of his or her true
path and the necessary steps that are to be taken to bring the
personality into alignment with the spiritual longing.
The presence of the symbols and mantras/assertions deepen the
understanding of the past and the present, and enhance the future.
It is only when the student has fully mastered the inherent
truth of the REIKI philosophy that he or she is ready to
begin to guide and teach others.
REIKI is not a panacea of all ills and should not be regarded as such.
Neither should it be hurried.
Without true understanding only disullusion and disappointment
will ensue and the power of REIKI will be misused.
