Master RoseMaster Bob Rose, 9th Degree in Kenpo Karate was born on the 21 August, 1937, in Warwickshire, England. Master Rose has an interesting cultural inheritance in that his Grandfather was Scottish, his Grandmother was a Northern Cheyanne Native American, his father was a half-blood Cheyanne and his mother was English.

With such a heritage it is no surprise that he has lived in both the United States of America and the United Kingdom. In the late 50's he saw active service with the French Foreign Legion, the US Army Airborne and the Special Forces. It was whilst serving two combat tours in Vietnam that he was awarded the Purple Heart, two Vietnamese gallantry medals and the Combat Infantry Badge, 2nd Award.

Master Rose was the first person to bring the late Grand Master Ed Parker's American Kenpo Karate to the UK and was also the first to form the country's first professional Kenpo Karate dojo.

Master Rose is recognised as the founding father of American Kenpo Karate in England and was the founder of the British Kenpo Karate Union in 1981.

Master Rose is also the only person in the UK to be officially recognised by Great Grand Master Thomas Mitose, the 22nd Generate head of the International Kosho Shorie Kenpo Association who, in 1986, came to England and recognised the British Kenpo Karate Union as teachers of the true art of Kenpo and awarded Master Rose his Master's Degree.
