Self-Protection - Driving - Stuck in Traffic

From Dr Stuart Maitland-Knibb of the Northants Air Ambulance, from his lecture at the FSB breakfast: 17-10-08 - Sourced from Andy Gibney.

If you are ever in stationary traffic, especially on a slip road, leave a car’s gap in front of you and turn your steering wheel to the left (in the UK). If anything hits you from behind you will have a chance of surviving. He preceded this by showing a photo of 3 cars crushed together into each other after being hit by a truck from behind, that was travelling at 50mph when it hit the first car.
