Practical Taekwondo: Back to the Roots - May 2009

Chief Instructor, Matthew Sylvester, has just had a book deal confirmed with leading book publishers and distributors Summersdale.

Whilst work continues apace getting all of the photos cropped and up to the correct resolution, Summersdale are busy putting their cataglogue together for 2009. Practical Taekwondo: Back to the Roots is expected to be on the shelves for May 2009.

The blurb that they will be using for both Matthew and the book is;

Bio
Matthew Sylvester, 3rd Dan has been studying Taekwondo since 1991. In 1995 he hosted pressure points pioneer Prof. Rick Clark. Since then, Matthew has dedicated his training to making Taekwondo as practical as possible, gaining black belts in Jung Shin Mudo (Taekwondo) Ao Denkou Jitsu, Jim Wagner’s Reality Based Personal Protection, Family Awareness Safety Training, and Aikoushin Kobujutsu.

Book Blurb
Practical Taekwondo: Back to the Roots is not the typical ‘how to’ book. It makes no claims that the techniques within the book are the ‘real’ or ‘true’ interpretations of ITF & WTF Taekwondo patterns. Instead readers can expect to be shown many possibilities, the techniques that the author has discovered and tested, and how they themselves can find their own applications.

Packed with over 500 photos and clear, step-by-step instructions, ITF and WTF practitioners alike will find this book to be invaluable. No matter what level you are in your study of Taekwondo, this book will help you look at patterns in a completely different way. Whether you are a white belt or a black belt, this book is packed with information that will make your training practical and relevant to the social challenges faced in the 21st Century.

Expect a lot more posts on the subject.
