Exeter Practical Martial Arts™ held its first grading for the Mini Cubs on 02-09-08. Students were tested on the Value of Courtesy (Politeness) and had to show that they understood what was and wasn’t polite. They also had to give examples of how they were polite.
The students were also tested on how to respond to a bully, how to tell a teacher what was happening, what a bully was and why it was bad to bully people.
After the Bully Awareness, the students had to demonstrated that they understood what a Stranger was, how to respond to a stranger, and how to tell someone about a Stranger approaching them.
As well as the theory, the students also had to demonstrate Rising Block, Lead and Rear Palm Heels, and Rear Front Kick both slowly in the air and full-power on the pads.
As well as being awarded a certificate, a Rising Block technique badge and a Value badge, the students were also competing for Star Student. Star Student awards are issued not only for ability, but also for effort, technique, attitude and overall improvement.
Exeter Practical Martial Arts™ would like to congratulate the students on their effort and especially our first Star Student.
