EPMA - The Official Opening Day

Thursday 26th June saw the official opening of Exeter Practical Martial Arts.

Students of all ages and abilities from 3 upwards took part as the lessons ran through the door.

The adult session was especially successful and a fun warm-up soon had everyone nice and warm. We then moved onto hand drills, getting all students comfortable not only with the techniques but also with being in someone else’s ‘intimate’ space.

From there the session went outside and we covered the use of cars in self-protection, and a quick session of in-car pad work.

The final stage of the lesson was demonstrating the difference between sparring (semi and light contact), a ‘fight’ and an ‘attack’.

The entire session saw students of all backgrounds and abilities learning new skills, both physical and mental and everyone went away having learnt something new.
